Successful test of the new Cold Jet Aero 2 PCS 60 machine

We are pleased to announce that we have conducted successful robotic dry ice blasting tests with our partner’s Cold Jet new dry ice blasting machine Aero 2 PCS 60.

From June 10th to 13th, 2019, open days were held at the Cold Jet production center in Oborniki, Poland, to introduce the new Aero 2 PCS 60 blasting machine. Our team was on spot for the entire duration of the event and presented JettyRobot 6 and JettyRobot S to Cold Jet’s business partners.

During the event, we also had the opportunity to test the functionality of the new dry ice blasting machine PCS 60 with JettyRobot6.

Blasting tests were carried out at a distance of 55 m using 1”  hose.

Contamination of different types and various degrees of difficulty had been selected deliberately for testing purposes. The aim was to test the effectiveness of the new PCS 60 blasting machine on the types of contamination encountered most frequently in pipelines, which are also the most demanding to clean.

Among the selected types of contamination were:

  • Grease from the kitchen exhaust
    • UV varnish
    • Coating

The test results exceeded our expectations. All types of contaminants tested were removed not only very quickly but also precisely, during a single rotation of the nozzle.

The main benefits of the new PCS 60 blasting machines include not only the ability to adjust the dry ice particle size (3mm – 0.3mm) but also an advanced dry ice dosing system and direct airflow function to minimize losses and make cleaning faster and more efficient, using less compressed air and dry ice.

In view of the excellent test results, we decided to adapt the JettyRobot system to make it fully compatible with the new PCS 60 machines to take full advantage of their capabilities.
