Power Generation

Electricity is a key form of energy in economic terms. Today, electricity is produced in many ways:

  • Hydroelectric power plants
  • Nuclear power plants
  • Gas-fired power plants
  • Photovoltaic, wind and other types of power plants

The common denominator in many of them is the use of the pipeline for various purposes within the technology. These include penstocks, process water circuits, cooling water piping and more.

What Problems Customers Solve Most Often

Preventive maintenance system and minimisation of downtime - today's energy industry places high demands on an effective preventive maintenance system. This makes it possible to minimize the risk of accidents and prevent unplanned shutdowns. As in many other industries, every outage means high economic losses.

Inspection and checking of pipelines - using JettyRobot technology, it is possible to inspect pipelines and plan timely maintenance based on their actual condition and wear. With a range of up to 1,500 m, the latest JettyRobot significantly reduces the number of pipeline disconnections and streamlines the speed of inspection

Transportation of technologies into the pipeline - JettyRobot can be equipped with technologies for cleaning pipelines and restoring protective coatings on site.

Customer Needs From the Power Generation Sector

In the challenging environment of the energy industry, customers need above all:

  • Determine the condition of the piping.
  • Carry out an inspection before commissioning.
  • Clean the pipes.
  • Recoating the interior of the hydroelectric power plant penstock.
  • Recoating the interior of the cooling water intake.
  • Reduce downtime and minimize losses.
  • Treat girth welds from the inside.

How the Cooperation With JettyRobot Works

  • We provide visual inspection of the pipe, measurement of the residual wall thickness of the pipe and measurement of the coating.
  • We will propose the most effective cleaning method, according to the project requirements. We usually choose one of the non-abrasive cleaning methods: dry ice, brushes, compressed air. If necessary, we will use: high pressure water jetting, abrasive blasting, other methods on request.
  • Implementation of cleaning within the time and scope agreed by the customer.
  • When recoating: prepare the pipe surface (quality, roughness), coating application, Coating quality control - visual inspection, measurement of coating thickness (DFT), holiday detection.
  • We provide customers with a report of the inspection, cleaning and recoating.

Need more detailed information or require a different cleaning method? Fill in our contact form and we will prepare a tailor-made solution for your needs.
